We are visionaries; we have a vision for a world without cancer, but we need your help. This year, we are proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

Why we are participating in the campaign? 
My name is Aoibheann Hillman and I am a candidate for Team Red Ribbon Advocates this year. I am currently 16 and a sophomore at Chatham High School. When I was six, my dad passed away, and although it was not from cancer, I understand how much the loss of a family member or anyone close can affect one's life. Blood cancer causes so many deaths each year, so by being an LLS student visionary candidate, I feel that I can contribute and make a difference to a community that helps so many people throughout their cancer journeys and beyond—so fewer people have to experience such a profound loss in their lives. 

My name is Robbie Zito and I am co-leading Team Red Ribbon Advocates. I am 15 and a Sophomore at Chatham High School. I am participating in this campaign because someone close to me is at high risk for blood cancer, so I understand the underlying fear that comes along with it. Blood cancer affects so many people's lives and not just the people who become sick, but the people they love around them too. I want to do this to help prevent the “ifs” from becoming a reality for all of those at risk of blood cancer.

What does LLS do? 
As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
